Martin Cunniffe is a friendly and knowledgeable Tour Leader with Travelwise Holidays, with a lifetime in tourism and teaching. Born and raised in New Zealand, he brings the calm, engaging style of a born explainer — making every tour feel like an enriching adventure with a good mate.
“I look forward to meeting travellers and sharing wonderful holidays — whether showcasing beautiful New Zealand or venturing further afield.”
Martin has guided trips around the UK, Eastern and Western Europe, Russia and Scandinavia, Australia, and New Zealand. He spent 11 years based in London before returning to New Zealand with his wife in 2000, settling in Birkenhead on Auckland’s North Shore. He continues to teach and remains actively involved as a tour leader across Europe and New Zealand.
His international experience and natural teaching ability allow him to share destinations with depth, humour, and genuine care. Guests love his approachable nature and the way he makes even a complex journey feel effortless.
Travellers on Martin’s tours can look forward to thoughtful commentary, easy company, and a holiday that feels both well organised and warmly human.
