Itinerary

Depart Auckland on Emirates flight EK449 at 8.30pm and fly overnight to Dubai.

Arrive Dubai 5.35am. We will be transferred to our hotel where early check in has been arranged. The day is yours to relax after your flight. Later today, visit the spectacular Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and enjoy dinner this evening before returning to the hotel. Stay Dubai hotel, 1 night.

Fly to Nairobi, where your African safari adventure begins. Transfer to the Nairobi Serena Hotel for a two night stay, with dinner at the hotel this evening.

Meet endangered Rothschild’s giraffes at the Giraffe Centre before visiting the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to learn about its work rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned elephants and rhinos. After lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Gardens, visit the Kobe Beads Factory, known for its handmade jewellery and beadwork.

Journey to Amboseli National Park, spectacularly positioned beneath Mount Kilimanjaro. This afternoon, enjoy your first game drive through a landscape of open plains and lush swamps, renowned for its large herds of elephants.

A full day exploring Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives. Against the magnificent backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, look for elephant, antelope, hyena, warthog and baboon, with the chance of spotting lion, leopard or cheetah.

Cross the border into Tanzania and continue to Arusha, the safari capital of northern Tanzania. Settle into the Four Points by Sheraton Arusha for the night.

Travel to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive through forests, open plains and lakeshore habitats. Look for elephant, zebra, giraffe, hippo and buffalo, along with the park’s famous tree climbing lions and abundant birdlife, before continuing to Ngorongoro.

Descend 600 metres into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable day of wildlife viewing. Search for black rhino, lion, zebra, baboon, hyena and flamingos, with a picnic lunch beside the hippo pools on the crater floor.
