MON 21 SEP - AUCKLAND/WELLINGTON

Travel on the superb ‘Northern Explorer’ rail service departing at 7.45am. See the scenic wonders of Middle Earth, soar over towering viaducts, across the high plains of the volcanic plateau, and beneath three mighty volcanoes. Arrive Wellington at 6.25 pm. Stay Naumi Studio Hotel, Wellington 3 nights. Included: D

TUE 22 SEP - WAIRARAPA DAY TRIP

This morning, our first stop is at the Remutaka mountain summit (555 metres above sea level) to take in the panoramic views and visit the Remutaka Crossing monument which commemorates 60,000 New Zealand troops who made the crossing from the military camp in Featherston to the Port of Wellington between 1915 - 1918. We then visit delightful Greytown and it’s historical buildings and tree-lined avenues. Many describe Greytown as the prettiest town in the North Island. Later we head to Tirohana Estate Vineyard for an included lunch. After lunch some free time in Martinborough, one of the country's prime wine regions. Its claim to fame is the exceptional quality of its Pinot Noir wines. Later we head back over the Remutaka range to Wellington. Freedom dining tonight. Included: B, L

WED 23 SEP - ZEALANDIA SANCTUARY, WOW SHOW

This morning we tour Zealandia, the world’s first fully-fenced urban eco-sanctuary. Set around a picturesque reservoir, it is home to some of New Zealand's most rare and extraordinary wildlife. Walk amongst rare birds like hihi, kākāriki, and takahē. Spot prehistoric reptiles like the tuatara bathing in the sun. This evening we enter a fabulous new world - The ‘World of WearableArt’. WOW is a world renowned art experience, where an annual design competition culminates in a spectacular show. Dinner at the hotel then coach transfer to and from the show. Included: B, D

THU 24 SEP - WELLINGTON/AUCKLAND

After breakfast we transfer to the airport. Depart Wellington at 12.45pm and arrive in Auckland at 1.50pm. Included: B
