ITINERARY

MON 07 OCT - AUCKLAND/WELLINGTON    D

Travel on the superb ‘Northern Explorer’ rail service, depart Auckland at 7.45 am, arrive Wellington at 6.25 pm. Transfer to Travelodge Hotel for a 3 night stay.

TUE 08 OCT - WAIRARAPA DAY TRIP   B,L

This morning, our first stop is at the Remutaka mountain summit (555 metres above sea level) to take in the panoramic views and visit the Remutaka Crossing monument which commemorates 60,000 New Zealand troops who made the military crossing from the military camp in Featherston to the Port of Wellington between 1915 - 1918. We then visit delightful Greytown and it’s historical buildings and tree-lined avenues. Many describe Greytown as the prettiest town in the North Island. Later we head to Tirohana Estate Vineyard for an included lunch. After lunch some free time in Martinborough, one of the country's prime wine regions. Its claim to fame is the exceptional quality of its Pinot Noir wines. Later we head back over the Remutaka range to Wellington. Freedom dining tonight.

WED 09 OCT - WETA TOUR, WOW SHOW   B,D

This morning we visit Weta Workshop and then have the  afternoon at leisure. This evening we enter a fabulous new World - The ‘World of WearableArt Awards Show’. An explosion of Creativity! Dinner included and coach transfer to and from the show.

THU 10 OCT - WELLINGTON/AUCKLAND   B

Enjoy a fascinating tour of Parliament. Later  our flight NZ 432 departs Wellington at 1.45pm and arrives in Auckland at 2.50pm
