Drive to Hamilton for a tour of the famous Hamilton Gardens. A living museum of gardens from ancient Egypt to the 21st century. Each beautiful garden is a piece of history that celebrates the ideas and beliefs of its age. Located alongside the Waikato River, gardeners have worked the whenua at Hamilton Gardens for centuries. A delectable lunch is included in the gardens. After lunch continue on to the Forgotten World, Taumarunui.
Stay Forgotten World Motel (1 night).
WED 06 NOV - TAUMARUNUI/NEW PLYMOUTH B,L,D
Leave the Forgotten World and travel to New Plymouth. En- route visit Lauren’s Lavender Farm and later we enter the Republic of Whangamomona for an included lunch at the charismatic Hotel. After lunch we visit the delightful gardens of Cairnhill and Green Hills before arriving in New Plymouth. Stay Plymouth International Hotel (3 nights).
THU 07 - GARDEN TOURING (2 DAYS) B,D
We spend two full days visiting a selection of incredible gardens. Today we visit Riverlea, Leppers, Waiongana and Te Kukumara gardens.
FRI 08 NOV - GARDEN TOURING B,L,D
We set off for the spectacular gardens of Inglewood and Hawera. We visit Stanleigh and Leonies gardens and afterwards we break it up with a visit and lunch at the very unique Tawhiti Museum. After lunch we visit the Puketarata Garden and then travel along the scenic coastline via Opunake Beach back to New Plymouth. Dinner tonight is at the Vineyard Bistro at Okurukuru Winery. Soak in the wonderful coastal and mountain views.
SAT 09 NOV - NEW PLYMOUTH/ AUCKLAND B,L
This morning we visit Te Henui Cemetery and then head North for Auckland. En route we stop for an included lunch at the Fat Pigeon Cafe at Piopio. Arrive back in Auckland late afternoon.
