WED 16 JUN - PERTH AND FREMANTLE SIGHTSEEING
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting off to explore Perth’s highlights, including Kings Park, Botanic Gardens and Tree Top Walk. Continue to Cottesloe Beach before heading to historic Fremantle for an orientation tour past landmarks such as Fremantle Prison, the Round House and the Esplanade. You’ll then have free time to explore Fremantle and enjoy lunch (own expense). This afternoon, travel through prestigious suburbs including Peppermint Grove, Mosman Park and Dalkeith, passing the Royal Perth Yacht Club, Matilda Bay and the University of Western Australia, before returning to your hotel for an afternoon at leisure. THURS 17 JUN - PERTH AND ROTTNEST ISLAND DAY TOUR
Our day begins early, with an 8.00am transfer to Barrack Street Jetty to board your ferry to Rottnest Island. On arrival at the island, be sure to look out for the famous and friendly quokkas near the settlement area. At 11.30, we will explore this stunning island on a private Bayseeker Tour, taking in breathtaking coastal scenery and iconic sights including Wadjemup Lighthouse, Henrietta Rocks, Cathedral Rocks and Cape Vlamingh, along with insights into Rottnest’s rich cultural and historical heritage. After lunch we will join a Guided Gun & Tunnel Tour at 2.00pm, followed by a one-way train ride, before enjoying some free time. FRI 18 JUN - PERTH - SWAN VALLEY RIVER CRUISE & TOUR
This morning enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then we start our day of sightseeing with a 2 hour morning cruise on the Swan River, with an onboard guided wine tasting event. On arrival in the Swan Valley, enjoy a delicious shared platter lunch onboard with wine. At the completion of the cruise, meet your driver and guide to continue exploring the Swan Valley by coach. Visit 2 wineries, indulge in a cheeseboard, chocolate tasting at a chocolate company, plus shared snacks and a beer at a local brewery. This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. This morning, delve into the region’s fascinating past and present with a visit to its gold-rush heritage and the modern-day Super Pit mine. Reboarding mid-morning for brunch, this afternoon is at your leisure. Relax with fine hospitality as the endless sweep of the Nullarbor passes by. Crossing borders and time zones, arrive late evening in the quiet town of Cook, South Australia. Step into this outback outpost to explore the ghost-like town, and as evening falls join a guided stargazing experience to spot the Southern Cross and other constellations. MON 21 JUN - SOUTH AUSTRALIA/BAROSSA VALLEY
Spend the morning travelling through the pastoral heart of South Australia, with sweeping views of the Flinders Ranges, Spencer Gulf, and the Adelaide Plains unfolding beyond your window. A leisurely breakfast and lunch are both served on board, inviting you to savour the relaxed rhythm of train travel. In the afternoon, disembark at Long Plains and transfer by comfortable coach to the world-renowned Barossa Valley. Here, at the historic Seppeltsfield Estate, an evening of fine wine and dining awaits. Overnight the Indian Pacific crosses another border, arriving in Broken Hill, New South Wales – the famed Silver City. After a hearty breakfast, set out to explore this legendary outback town. Choose your own adventure: visit the Miners’ Memorial and Sulphide Street Railway and Historical Museum for a fascinating look at the region’s mining heritage, or venture underground on a Daydream Mine tour for an authentic glimpse into the life of early miners. Art lovers can head to the Pro Hart Gallery for a ‘paint and sip’ session in the artist’s original studio, while foodies will enjoy a native ingredients masterclass with Chef Lee Cecchin, followed by a cook-off at The Old Salt Bush restaurant.
