Drive to the South East tip of Tasmania to visit the famous Port Arthur Historic Site - the Unesco World Heritage convict settlement. Port Arthur was a bold experiment and ground-breaking attempt at reform of convicts in the colony. It is a special place of complex history, heritage and compelling stories. It is a place of global significance and one of the 11 places that together form the UNESCO Australian Convict Sites World Heritage Property. Visit the bustling Salamanca Markets. Music, crafts, location and the people all go to making this a memorable experience. In the afternoon visit the incredible Museum of Old and New Art (Mona) which houses David Walsh’s collection of ancient, modern, and contemporary art. Mona is Australia’s largest private museum. It’s best to bring a sense of humour to Mona. Savour a Farewell Dinner this evening at the fabulous “Urban Greek” (a 5 minute walk away).
