SUN 21 FEB - Auckland/COROMANDEL TOWN
Our journey begins as we depart Auckland by ferry at 9.30am, cruising across the Hauraki Gulf towards beautiful Coromandel Town. En route, we pause at Man O’War Winery on Waiheke Island to enjoy lunch in a spectacular coastal setting before continuing on, arriving into Coromandel at approximately 1.30pm. A coach will meet us at the wharf for a visit to the fascinating Gold Stamper Battery, where we step back in time and discover the region’s rich gold-mining history. MON 22 FEB - COROMANDEL TOWN/WHITIANGA
This morning we visit the iconic Driving Creek Railway, New Zealand’s only mountain railway where you will wind through regenerating native forest on this unique 75 minute journey crossing 10 bridges and through 3 tunnels, to enjoy spectacular views from the EyeFull Tower. Continuing on, we stop at Matarangi before arriving into Whitianga for a relaxed café lunch. This afternoon we explore the Mercury Bay Museum, gaining insight into the area’s maritime history and early settlement. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure — stroll the waterfront, browse local shops, or simply relax and soak up the seaside atmosphere. Tonight enjoy freedom dining. TUE 23 FEB – WHITIANGA
A highlight of our time in Mercury Bay awaits this morning as we embark on a two-hour scenic Glass Bottom Boat tour exploring the stunning coastline around Cathedral Cove. Marvel at dramatic rock formations, crystal-clear waters and abundant marine life from this unique vantage point. On return, we travel to Mercury Bay Estate for lunch in a relaxed vineyard setting. The afternoon is spent visiting the golden sands of Hahei Beach and the historic shoreline of Cooks Beach — both offering picture-perfect coastal scenery. Included: B, L
WED 24 FEB - WHITIANGA/WHANGAMATA
Today we enjoy a leisurely coastal drive south, taking in ever-changing sea views and charming beach communities. We pause in Tairua and Pauanui, two much-loved holiday spots known for their laid-back coastal vibe. Arriving into Whangamata, the afternoon is free for you to unwind — perhaps a beach walk, a browse through town, or simply time to relax. This evening we gather for dinner locally. THUR 25 FEB - WHANGAMATA/ROTORUA
Our morning begins with a stop in Waihi to explore the towns Gold Story, learning about the town’s fascinating mining heritage. A short drive then brings us to Waihi Beach for a lunch stop (own cost) before continuing inland through lush countryside towards Rotorua. Dinner this evening will be at the hotel. FRI 26 FEB - ROTORUA/AUCKLAND
This morning we take a guided tour of Whakarewarewa Village, where steaming vents, bubbling mud pools and deep cultural traditions combine for a truly unique experience. We then head to Skyline Rotorua for lunch, enjoying elevated views over Lake Rotorua before departing for Auckland. Included: B, L
