ITINERARY

THU 14 MAY - AUCKLAND/ JOHANNESBURG (D)
This morning transfer to Auckland Airport for your Qantas Airways flight to Johannesburg via Sydney departing at 6.05 am. Arrive in Johannesburg at 5.00 pm and transfer to the Garden Court Sandton City Hotel (1 night).

FRI 15 MAY -  JOHANNESBURG/ HAZYVIEW (B,D)
Depart Johannesburg for your journey by road to Hazyview in Mpumalanga Province. En-route visit the scenic Blyde River Canyon, one of the largest canyons on earth, and be amazed at the spectacular view of Kruger National Park and the Lowveld. Transfer to Protea Hotel by Marriott Kruger Gate (2 nights).

SAT 16 MAY – KRUGER NATIONAL PARK SIGHTSEEING (B,D)
Today enjoy a game drive experience in the world-famous Kruger National Park. Search for the Big Five and enjoy prolific birdlife and wildlife viewing with a highly experienced Ranger in an open safari vehicle.

SUN 17 MAY – HAZYVIEW/ SWAZILAND (B,L,D)

This morning enjoy a short morning game drive in Kruger National Park before travelling overland from Hazyview to Swaziland.  Transfer to the Happy Valley Hotel Ezulwini (1 night).

MON 18 MAY – SWAZILAND/ HLUHLUWE (B,D)
This morning depart hotel and head back across the border to South Africa. Enjoy an afternoon open vehicle game drive en route to the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi region where you will stay at Ubizane Wildlife Reserve (Zululand Tree Lodge or similar, 2 nights).  This afternoon enjoy a game drive on the Ubizane Reserve.

TUE 19 MAY – HLUHLUWE NATIONAL PARK SIGHTSEEING  (B,D)
This morning enjoy game viewing drive in Hluhluwe National Park where the Big Five roam freely in the bush. 

WED 20 MAY - HLUHLUWE/ DURBAN (B)

Today travel to to Durban for your stay at Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani Hotel (1 night).  

THU 21 MAY – DURBAN/PORT ELIZABETH (B)
Enjoy the day at leisure in Durban until transfer to the airport for your late morning flight to Port Elizabeth. On arrival at Port Elizabeth transfer to the Protea Hotel by Marriott Port Elizabeth (1 night).

FRI 22 MAY – PORT ELIZABETH/ KNYSNA (B)
Today, begin your journey along the famous Garden Route and visit Tsitsikamma National Park and Storm’s River Mouth en route to Knysna. The beautiful and popular Tsitsikamma National Park. A place of lush indigenous and commercial forests, deep river gorges and abundance of magnificent birds and nature walks.  Arrive in Knysna and transfer to the Protea Hotel Knysna Quays (2 nights). 

SAT 23 MAY – KNYSNA SIGHTSEEING (B,L)
After a leisurely start, today enjoy a lagoon cruise to Knysna’s famous Featherbed Nature Reserve with its abundance of plant, bird and small wildlife, followed by a trailer ride to the top of Western Head. Walk back through the milkwood trees for a buffet lunch at the restaurant set on the edge of the lagoon.

SUN 24 MAY – KNYSNA/ OUDTSHOORN (B,L)

Depart Knysna and travel over the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn. Enjoy a guided tour of Oudtshoorn's famous Cango Caves, one of Africa’s most spectacular natural rock formations. Continue with a visit an ostrich breeding farm for a guided tractor tour including a short “game drive” around the working farm, followed by lunch. Transfer to the Hlangana Lodge (1 night).

MON 25 MAY – OOUDTSHOORN / STELLENBOSCH (B)

Today enjoy an early morning meerkat safari (weather permitting). Continue to Stellenbosch. On arrival Stellenbosch, transfer to Stellenbosh Hotel (1 night). 

TUE 26 MAY – STELLENBOSCH / CAPE TOWN (B,L)
Today enjoy a Cape Winelands experience featuring historic and modern architecture, fabulous cruising and world-class wines. The tour includes the principal wine routes of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoeck stopping along the way for wine tasting at prestigious estates. On arrival Cape Town, transfer to the Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel (3 nights).

WED 27 MAY – CAPE TOWN SIGHTSEEING (B,D)
Today depart on a full day local Peninsula Tour. Step into the working harbour of Hout Bay for an authentic fishing village experience. Enjoy the famous scenic drive between Hout Bay and Noordhoek on Cape Town’s stunning Atlantic Ocean coastline and enter Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Take a trip via Funicular to the old lighthouse lookout point at the top of the cliffs for spectacular views. The return journey includes visits to Boulders Beach and Kirtenbosch National Botanical Garden.

THU 28 MAY – CAPE TOWN SIGHTSEEING (B)
This morning enjoy a local city tour including the Table Mountain aerial cableway (weather permitting) for stunning views of the city below and surrounding oceans. Continue with a guided tour of the historical and cultural sights of Cape Town including key monuments and places of interest featuring the Castle of Good Hope, St George’s Cathedral, the Lush Company Gardens and Cape Malay Quarter. 

FRI 29 MAY – CAPE TOWN/ VICTORIA FALLS (B)
This morning transfer to Cape Town airport for your South Africa Airways flight to Victoria Falls departing at 8.30 am. Arrive in Victoria Falls at 11.15 am and transfer to Ilala Lodge Hotel (3 nights). The lodge is situated on the Zimbabwean side of the mighty Zambezi River boasting impressive views of the amazing waterfall. This afternoon transfer to the landing for a relaxing two hour sunset cruise down the Zambezi River. Enjoy snacks and refreshments on board and an opportunity to do some last minute game viewing.

SAT 30 MAY – VICTORIA FALLS SIGHTSEEING (B,D)
This morning depart hotel on a guided tour of the “Smoke that Thunders” – Victoria Falls. One of the seven natural wonders of the world the Victoria Falls is a truly spectacular sight. After this great experience, transfer back to your hotel.  This evening enjoy a special Boma dinner with local entertainment.

SUN 31 MAY - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK SIGHTSEEING (BOTSWANA)  (B,L)

Enjoy an exciting day trip over the border into Botswana and a chance to explore one of Africa's greatest wildlife destinations, the Chobe National Park.  Cruise down the Chobe River and enjoy wildlife viewing and lunch on the rivers edge.

MON 01 JUNE - VICTORIA FALLS/ JOHANNESBURG/ AUCKLAND (B)

Morning at leisure in Victoria Falls until transfer to the airport for your South African Airways flight to Johannesburg departing at 1.30 pm.  Arrive Johannesburg and connect with Qantas Airways flight to Auckland via Sydney.

TUE 02 JUNE - ARRIVE AUCKLAND

Arrive in Auckland at 9.05 pm where you will be transferred to your Auckland address or continue with your own homeward arrangements.
